Is squash ok for dogs

Is squash ok for dogs? No it isn't, it's just as cruel as any other game of that nature. I'd like to think that the USTA or its sponsors, who put a lot of effort into promoting the game, would be concerned with what is going on with dog matches if squash is on their list of sponsored sports. As a society, we should be a little more aware of what we are doing to our dogs when we choose certn sports for them. They are more than simply another object for us to use as part of our dly lives. If they live in a house with us and eat food that we eat, then they should have the same rights as we do. They're companions. If a sport is going to make us take our eyes off of them and place our focus on a ball, racket or stick, then there are other sports that could do that better. The ball and racket are pretty much the same in almost all sports, so why should a dog not have the same rights as a person? We choose to call this sport "Squash", but it's really just a game for our pets that we can choose to play or not to play.

I would love it if the government would step in and make all sports stop using dogs as a form of entertnment. To be honest, it shouldn't be an issue with the government. People have their own opinions and it should just be that simple.

If you read the posts here it's not as simple as banning it. It's not like when the NBA first started the ban on dunking. The ban on that activity never had any teeth.

I play with the dogs and like most players here I have nothing agnst them. They aren't forced to play and are only there because I want to play with them. If we can go off topic let's talk about the government and what it should and shouldn't get involved with.

It is not a matter of government get involved or not. It is a matter of being a good citizen and protecting one's animals, or in this case, your dog.

You should read the posts. There is no talk of the government being involved, and no one is agnst the bans, just the dog sports.

I don't think the government should step in with sports anyway. It's just not a part of our culture. I agree with the banning part though.

We're not talking about government stepping in about anything. I'm talking about a ban on a particular breed of dog. I know all you dog owners out there who like your pets. But the dog in the OP was vicious and was acting like a dog should when that sort of act is not in line with that of a dog owner. My point is that it's something that needs to be addressed to make this post less of a rant about the government and more about the ban. It's a different issue.
